Promoting your Site

Since your site is built, domain name is registered, and you have a host, it's time to get your website promoted.

This will include, first and foremost, submitting your site to all the major search engines. There are a lot of services out there that will do this for you, some are free and some are not. One site that submits to 18 major search engines is AddMe, and it has many other useful tools for site submission. Other useful sites are Yahoo!, and Google.

Your site will need to follow a few guidelines so that the search engines can find you. Other options for promoting your site are: starting a small newsletter to visitors who provide you with their email addresses, sending out monthly or bi-monthly updates to your visitors, notifying them of changes you have made, writing articles and submitting them to sites, using ezine ads or looking into PPC's (Pay per Click), and contacting webmasters of sites that are relevant to your site and linking to each other.
